Walla Walla, WA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District (Corps) will be trenching a septic line for the new maintenance building near the Mill Creek office beginning tomorrow, March 3. This work will result in the closure of the parking lot and road to the Mill Creek Office, March 3 and 4.

This work is one of the final steps in a contract to construct a new maintenance building near the Mill Creek Office. The contract was awarded to Verdis, a full-service civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning and construction firm based in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

“The maintenance building is designed to provide additional climate-controlled storage and work space for critical operations and maintenance equipment and tasks,” Brad Trumbo, Operations Project Manager for the Mill Creek Office, said.

Presently, Verdis is connecting utilities, as the new building includes septic and water supplies. This work includes routing a septic line across the asphalt road between the office entrance on Reservoir Road and the public parking area along the Mill Creek levee. Because Verdis will be trenching through the existing asphalt to place the septic line, the parking lot and road to the Mill Creek Office will be closed to protect visitors and their vehicles, as well as the work crew.
