UPDATED July 16 -- New Mill Creek Office water line installation set for July 17; Temporary parking lot closure to occur

Published July 16, 2012

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to install a water line across Yellowhawk Creek will require temporary closure of the Mill Creek Office parking lot July 17 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

The temporary closure will be necessary to accommodate trenching and installation of a new water line under the parking lot pavement. This work is part of the new Mill Creek Office construction project.

The south side of Mill Creek (the unpaved side) will remain open to visitors during this time. Visitors are encouraged to use the parking area at Rooks Park and use the paved trails on the north side of Mill Creek -- a footbridge across the creek allows access to the south levee trails, the existing office and Bennington Lake.

Visitors needing to meet with Mill Creek Office staff during this time should call the office at 509-527-7160 to arrange to meet staff outside the work area.

For more information about this project or for general information about Mill Creek Dam and Bennington Lake, call the Mill Creek office or visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/millcreekdam.
