Dworshak hosts nighttime star-gazing and music program

AHSAHKA, Idaho –  Visitors are invited to join U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at the Dworshak Dam Visitor Center on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 8:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. for a free evening program of stars and music on top of the dam.

John Olson, visiting astronomy enthusiast, will have telescopes and binoculars on hand and will provide a short program about star gazing.  Dworshak Visitor Center volunteers, the dulcimer duo, Riverwind, will provide live music to accompany visitors’ star-gazing activities.

Dworshak Dam Visitor Center activities are free and open to all ages. Visitors age 16 and older must show photo identification and register at the front desk prior to entry.  Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Visitors are encouraged to bring a flashlight and a lawn chair for comfortable sitting.  For more information call 208-476-1255, or stop by the Dworshak Dam Visitor Center, open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
