  • Corps reminds summer visitors about possible wildlife encounters in natural areas

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds visitors to Corps-managed natural areas to exercise caution if wild animals are encountered. The potential for conflict between humans and threatening wildlife exists since the District hosts 8 million visitors annually at its eight water resource projects in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in the Snake-Columbia rivers basin.
  • Ice Harbor NavLock schedules two-day recreational vessel closure to perform work

    BURBANK, Wash. – Ice Harbor Dam’s navigation lock, located at Snake River Mile 9.7 near Burbank, Wash., will close to all recreational river traffic for two days, Tuesday, July 31, and Wednesday, Aug. 1, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.
  • Low-flow channel work to require intermittent trail closures

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Continuing work to create a low-flow fish channel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ section of the Mill Creek channel will require intermittent closures on the south levee trail beginning the first week of August through mid-September, Corps officials at the Mill Creek Project office announced today.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to install a water line across Yellowhawk Creek will require temporary closure of the Mill Creek Office parking lot July 17 between noon and 6 p.m., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.
  • Low-flow channel work to close horse trailer parking lot at Mill Creek Office

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to create a low-flow fish channel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ section of the Mill Creek channel will begin today, Friday, July 13. TML Construction of Hayden, Idaho, will be staging their equipment in the horse trailer parking and turn-around area just east of the Mill Creek Project office. The trailer parking area will be closed from July 13 through Sept. 15.

    POMEROY, Wash. – Drivers wishing to cross over Lower Granite Lock and Dam may encounter traffic delays or intermittent closures July 11-17 to accommodate construction activities, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.
