Mini-Camps

Mini Camps offers a primitive experience on the reservoir.  With over 70 sites located around the reservoir providing a get-away from the traditional campground experience.  You might be looking for a place to dock for a picnic, camp for the night, visit one of our lake group camps (Cold Springs Group Camp or Damascus Group Camp), or set up a place for your hunting camp.  Mini Camps consist of a picnic table, tent pad, fire ring, and outhouse.  Mini Camps do not have water, electricity or dumpsters.  Mini Camps are “Pack It In-Pack It Out” area.  Please help keep the park clean by taking your trash with you when you leave.

There are some mini camps that you are able to hike to such as the mini camps along Big Eddy trail and Cold Springs trail.  The mini camps along the Big Eddy trail are 3.5, 4.7, 4.8, and 5.0.  The mini camps along the Cold Springs trail are 14.1, 14.5, 15.0, and Cold Springs Group Camp.

We also have mini camps that are now assessable by ATV (<50” wide).  The Elk Creek Meadows OHV trail system mini camps consist of 12.1, 12.2, E0.2, E0.2.  To protect your riding privilege, please stay on designated trails.  This area is closed from May 1-June 30.

    To protect your riding privilege, please stay on designated trails.  Driving around gates, cross-country, and off-road is prohibited.  Regulations regarding the operation of ATV’s on Corps lands are different than the surrounding property owners.  Please remember to ask before crossing or hunting on private land

 

 

Please consider the following when planning your trip to the Mini Camps:

-The use of the Mini Camps is free.

-Reservations:

        -First-come-first-serve camping.  Reserving sites for future use is not allowed..

        -Camping length of stay at the Mini Camps is 14 days out of 30 days.

        -Quiet hours are from 10 pm-6 am.

-The Mini Camps are usable summer to fall months.

-Pets need to be on a leash and under control.

-“Pack It In-Pack It Out” area only.  Bags are located at the boat ramps.

-Dumpsters are located at Big Eddy and Dent Acres Campground.

-Potable water is located at Big Eddy, Bruce’s Eddy, and Dent Acres.

-Cell phone service is limited at best.
