Fire Restrictions: Lucky Peak Lake is aligned with other federal agencies and conforms to Stage 1 fire restrictions year-round. Parking is available in designated areas only.

Through a longstanding partnership with Ada County Parks and Waterways, which provides all docks along the Lucky Peak shoreline, boaters have access to over 45 miles of shoreline and public lands surrounding the lake. These boat-in sites provide unique opportunities for both day use and overnight camping, setting Lucky Peak apart from many other lakes. 

With more than 80 picnic and camping sites, boat-in areas can accommodate everything from a brief midday picnic to larger group camping or a quiet overnight beneath the stars. Sites are generally primitive, often including a picnic table, fire grill, and shelter. These areas are popular during the summer and fill quickly. Please remember that docks are shared with all lake users and cnnot be reserved while adjacent campsites remain on a first-come, first-served basis.

FACILITIES

Bathrooms: 
Vault toilets are available at Deer Flat, Chimney, and Placer Point
Pump-out stations and bathrooms are available at Spring Shores Marina

Dumpsters & Sanitation: 
Lucky Peak is a Pack It In – Pack It Out area
Toilets and limited dumpsters are available along the outer portions of the lake, but self-contained sanitation devices are recommended for boat-in campers

Camping: 
Boat-in sites are first-come, first-served with a 3-consecutive-day camping limit
Vehicles/trailers may remain unattended in designated launch parking for overnight boaters
No camping or overnighting is allowed in designated day-use areas
Placement of personal property to reserve a site is prohibited; items may be impounded by Ranger staff

Camping and boat-in use are available May 15 – September 15

Pets: 
Dogs must be leashed in developed areas unless otherwise posted 
No pets or glass are allowed in designated swimming areas
Off-leash shoreline activity is permitted 
Owners are required to pick up after their animals

Fire Restrictions:

Wood or charcoal fires are allowed only in agency-provided grills
No rock fire rings or ground fires
No portable charcoal grills
Propane or liquid-fuel stoves are allowed

Recreation: 
Boating, swimming, wake boarding, water skiing 
Paddleboarding, kite surfing, scuba diving
Hiking, picnicking, sightseeing 

Cell Service: 
Coverage is extremely limited across the lake
A marine radio is highly recommended: Channel 16 for emergencies and Channel 9 for recreational communication

Water Safety: 
Loaner life jackets are available at Barclay Bay, Turner, Spring Shores, and Robie
Children 14 and under must wear a life jacket while underway on any watercraft
A properly fitting life jacket must be available for every person on board any watercraft, including paddleboards, boats, and personal watercraft
