Dworshak Dam announces seasonal recreation closures

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Dworshak Dam announced seasonal closures of several recreation areas.

• Dent Acres Recreation Area: The recreation area and boat ramp will be closed from Dec. 10, 2025, to March 17, 2026, weather permitting, due to cold weather conditions. The lower Dent Acres boat ramp restroom will also be closed for winter maintenance.
• Dam View Campground: Closed from Dec. 1, 2025, to April 1, 2026.
• Canyon Creek Campground: Closed from Dec. 1, 2025, to April 1, 2026.
• Merry's Bay Day Use Area: Closed from Dec. 1, 2025, to April 1, 2026.
• Big Eddy, Bruce's Eddy, and Freeman Creek boat ramps: Open throughout the winter.

Dent Campground and Dent Group Camping Area will reopen April 12, 2026. Reservations are required and can be made through Recreation.gov online, via the Recreation.gov mobile app or by calling 877-444-6777.
