19-005 Corps invites comments on draft FONSI for City of White Bird Wastewater System Improvements Project

WHITE BIRD, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the White Bird, Idaho, Wastewater System Improvements Project. Comments will be accepted through Feb. 7, 2019.

The Corps proposes to assist the City of White Bird (city) with funding for the installation of mechanical and plumbing parts for the headworks, lagoons, and lift station; and purchase and installation of the concrete vaults, lift stations and pond liners. The Corps’ participation in this project is authorized under Section 595 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1999.

The Corps’ draft FONSI, which includes the City of Basalt’s Environmental Information Document (EID) as one of several attachments, is available for viewing or downloading on the Walla Walla District website at www.nww.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental-Compliance.

The Corps will accept public input Jan. 23 through Feb. 7, 2019.

Public comments may be submitted electronically to the Corps using the online comment form on the webpage, or via email NEPANWW@usace.army.mil -- type “White Bird 595” in the subject line. Written comments may also be sent via U.S. Postal Service, addressed to:
