Contractors use large cranes to hoist heavy loads over the top of Lower Granite Lock and Dam’s visitor center and adult fish ladder as they construct a new juvenile fish bypass system leading from the dam to the Juvenile Fish Facility. The fishway improvements are an important part of the Corps’ mission to save salmon and other endangered or threatened species.
