Dworshak Vegetation Management Plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District (Corps), invites your comments on the Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Dworshak Programmatic Land-Based Vegetation Management Plan.  The vegetation management plan would direct Corps natural resource management and stewardship actions on Corps-managed lands at Dworshak Dam and Reservoir in Clearwater County, Idaho.  This letter addresses public notice requirements for the National Environmental Policy Act.

The vegetation management plan was prepared to support the Corps environmental stewardship mission, reduce wildfire risk, and further wildlife mitigation goals.  Vegetation management at the reservoir is needed to maintain forest composition, provide habitat for Rocky Mountain Elk, and reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire.

The 30-day comment period begins January 27, 2023 and ends February 27, 2023.  All information and comments submitted will be included in the permanent public record.

Electronic comments may be filed directly online at: http://www.nww.usace.army.mil/EnvironmentalComplianceComment/ or via email to NEPANWW@usace.army.mil, inserting “Dworshak VMP” in the subject line. You may also mail comments to:
