Ice Harbor south shore access road closed nights through June 18 to prepare for 50th anniversary celebration event

BURBANK, Wash. – Part of Monument Drive on the south shore of the Snake River at Ice Harbor Lock and Dam near Burbank, Wash., will be closed during evenings beginning tonight, June 11, through Monday morning, June 18. The gate on Monument Drive on the south shore that provides access to the dam’s Visitor Center area will be closed from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. Visitors will still be able to access other nearby recreation areas including Charbonneau Park just east of the dam.

The Corps of Engineers is closing the Monument Drive gate to prepare for the upcoming Saturday,  June 16,  50th anniversary celebration of completion of construction of Ice Harbor Lock and Dam. The public is invited to the event, which begins with a ceremony at 10 a.m. and an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
