AHSAHKA, Idaho – Summer is just around the corner, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like you to know that Dworshak Dam Visitor Center will be open seven days a week starting Friday, May 26, the beginning of Memorial Day weekend, through Labor Day weekend. The Visitor Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tours of the dam will be offered daily at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Tours are limited to 8 people, and photo identification is required.
The Visitor Center also has a great selection of interesting and educational movies to entertain and expand your knowledge about the rich history of the Clearwater River area.
To get to the Dworshak Dam Visitor Center, drive five miles west of Orofino, Idaho, on State Highway 7. Turn right onto View Point Road, and follow the signs to the Visitor Center for about two miles.
