18-057 Corps invites comments on draft FONSI for City of Ashton Wastewater System Improvement Project

ASHTON, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Ashton, Idaho, Wastewater Improvements Project. Comments are due to the Corps no later than Thursday, June 21, 2018.

The Corps proposes to assist the City of Ashton to replace 8,100 feet of failing sewer lines in Fremont County, Idaho and evaluates the environmental effects of the proposed action. The sewer lines are of concrete and clay construction and were installed prior to 1960. Corps participation in this project is authorized under Section 595 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1999.

The Corps’ draft FONSI, EA and related documents are available on the Walla Walla District website at www.nww.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental-Compliance. Electronic comments may be submitted directly to the Corps using the online comment form on the webpage.

Written comments will be accepted from June 7 through June 21, 2018. Public comments must be electronically submitted or postmarked no later than Thursday, June 21, 2018. Comments may also be sent by email to NEPANWW@usace.army.mil, or via U.S. Postal Service. Insert “Ashton 595” in the email subject line. Mail written comments to:
