18-072 Corps issues FONSI for City of Ashton Wastewater System Improvement Project

ASHTON, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Ashton, Idaho, Wastewater System Improvements Project. 

The Corps proposes to assist the City of Ashton to replace 8,100 feet of failing sewer lines in Fremont County, Idaho and evaluates the environmental effects of the proposed action. The sewer lines are of concrete and clay construction and were installed prior to 1960. Corps participation in this project is authorized under Section 595 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1999.



Written comments were accepted from June 7 through June 21, 2018.The Corps’ signed FONSI, Environmental Assessment and related documents are available on the Walla Walla District website at
