18-125 Tree-replacement work to temporarily close Little Goose tailrace fishing and picnic areas

STARBUCK, Wash. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District officials announced that public access will be temporarily closed at Little Goose Dam esplanade picnic and fishing areas, Dec. 3-5, 2018, to accommodate the removal of 12 dead trees.

Park Ranger Andrew Singer said, “New trees will be planted in their place. For public safety, the entire work area will be closed until the project is complete.”

Areas closed will be on the downstream side of the dam (tailrace), adjacent to the navigation lock, between ‘the wall’ fishing area, downstream along the picnic areas, the concrete walkway, and ending just downstream of the walkway stairs.
