SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, is extending the public comment period for the Lower Monumental and Little Goose Project Master Plans, and accompanying Environmental Assessment (EA) in response to requests from stakeholders. The comment period will now run until Sept. 30.
The Master Plan describes how natural and recreational resources will be managed on the project lands associated with Lower Monumental and Little Goose dams. The old Master Plans and other associated documents are available on the Corps’ website at https://www.nww.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Locks-and-Dams/Lower-Monumental-Lock-and-Dam/Lower-Monumental-Master-Plan/ and https://www.nww.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Locks-and-Dams/Little-Goose-Lock-and-Dam/Little-Goose-Master-Plan/.
The Corps conducted public scoping meetings in Dayton and Pasco, Aug. 19 and 20, as part of the scoping period to support development of the draft revised Master Plan and EA.
Written comments on the Master Plans, environmental effects and important resources will now be accepted through Sept. 30. Comments may be submitted via U.S. Postal Service, email at LowerMonumentalMP@usace.army.mil or LittleGooseMP@usace.army.mil, or by using the online comment form on each Master Plan webpage. All comments received will be considered and become part of the public record.
