20-024 Corps seeks public input for Lucky Peak Lake View Recreation Trail

Boise, Idaho. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District (Corps) invites your comments on the draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Lake View Recreation Trail at Lucky Peak Dam and Lake, Boise, Idaho.

The Corps is proposing to construct a 15 mile multiple use trail for bike and pedestrian traffic along Lucky Peak Lake’s southern shoreline from Lucky Peak Dam to the Chimney Rock park area. The trail would allow increased access to recreational opportunities that include hiking, hunting, biking, wildlife viewing and access to the waterside campgrounds. Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association, a non-profit organization, would provide volunteer labor and equipment for construction of the proposed trail. The trail would be managed by the Corps.

The draft FONSI and EA are available in electronic form through the Corps website at: www.nww.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental-Compliance/. Comments will be accepted from May 22 through June 21. All information and comments submitted will be included in the permanent public record.
