21-023 Park and Restroom hour changes effective May 1

WALLA WALLA DISTRICT CORPS OF ENGINEERS
Published April 19, 2021

CLARKSTON, WA – The hours for parks and restrooms on the Lewiston and Clarkston sides of the Clearwater and Snake River National Recreation Trail at Corps-managed areas will be changing May 1. These areas include Greenbelt Boat Ramp, Swallows Park, Chestnut Beach, Confluence, and Clearwater Landing.

Park and restroom hours:

Parks and restrooms will be open from 7:30 a.m. to sunset.

Gates at Swallows Park, Chestnut Beach and Confluence will be locked after sunset.

The boat ramp access will remain open.

This decision is a result of increased incidents of vandalism, unauthorized camping and illicit activity at the recreation areas. The safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance. These events have created too many safety and management challenges to continue using historic park hours. Local law enforcement supports the Corps’ decision to implement these changes to the hours of local Corps parks and bathrooms.
