SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – Due to increasingly dry and hot conditions, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Natural Resource Management officials are increasing fire restrictions at all USACE managed lands along the Lower Snake River, as well as the Columbia River down to McNary Lock and Dam.

Effective immediately, and until further notice: all open flame is prohibited, including charcoal. Propane cooking stoves are allowed in areas clear of flammable material for a distance of five feet in all directions and must be attended at all times while in use.

These precautions have been set in place to ensure public safety and to provide the highest degree of protection to parks and natural resources.
