21-046 Corps of Engineers seeks public input for Environmental Assessment for proposed biosciences building on WSU campus

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District (Corps), in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Washington State University (WSU), is drafting an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed ARS-WSU joint plant biosciences building to be located on the campus of WSU.  The Corps requests public comment and input on the scope and potential effects of the proposed building.

The proposed building would be part of the V. Lane Rawlins Research and Education Complex, and would provide laboratory, office, and classroom space for researchers and instructors from ARS and WSU. The EA would identify and evaluate the effects of the proposed building and its construction on the surrounding environment.

The comment period will be open from Aug. 20 to Sept. 20. Comments may be filed online at: https://www.nww.usace.army.mil/EnvironmentalComplianceComment/ or via email to NEPANWW@usace.army.mil, inserting “ARS/WSU Research Building” in the subject line. Comments may also be mailed to:
