22-031 Corps invites public comments on the Federal Participation in Watercraft Inspection Stations documents

Walla Walla, WA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District (Corps) invites your comments on the May 2022 Federal Participation in Watercraft Inspection Stations, Updated Integrated Letter Report and Programmatic Environmental Assessment, Columbia River Basin (LR/PEA) and associated Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

The LR/PEA updates the previously approved 2017 LR/PEA of the same title by presenting the results of new economic and environmental impact evaluations. The 2022 LR/PEA recommends that the federal government include the states of Nevada and Wyoming in the cost-sharing effort for the ongoing and successful state-managed Watercraft Inspection Program to establish and operate watercraft inspection stations to protect the Columbia River Basin from aquatic invasive species specifically zebra and quagga mussels. The current program is operated in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
