CLARKSTON, Wash. – With the summer recreation season winding down, Lower Granite Lock and Dam’s Visitor Center hours of operation are set to change beginning Monday, October 3.

Off-season hours for the visitor center will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed on federal holidays. USACE staff and the Discovery Your Northwest bookstore will operate on the same hours, given appropriate availability. School, group and public tours are available by prior appointment.

The Lower Granite Visitor Center offers the chance to engage with interpretive exhibits and learn about migrating fish, hydropower, river navigation, environmental stewardship, recreation, wildlife, and other Corps of Engineers missions at Lower Granite.

To get to the Lower Granite Visitor Center:

From Clarkston, Washington: Follow U.S. 12 west approximately 20 miles. Turn north onto Ledgerwood Road for approximately two miles. Continue north onto Kirby Mayview Road for approximately 18 miles. Follow the signs to Lower Granite Dam. Turn right to continue Kirby Mayview Road and follow for 16 miles to Lower Granite Dam. Visitor Center is on the south shore.

From Pullman, Washington: Follow State Route 194 southwest. Follow signs to Almota and Boyer Park. Follow Lower Granite Road to Lower Granite Dam. At the security gate, dial 2210 for crossing escort.

From State Route 127: Turn east just south of the Snake River onto Lower Deadman Creek Road. Proceed 35 miles following the directional signs to Lower Granite Dam.
