The Walla Walla District held a walk last April to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. District employees walked around the district headquarters building to show their support for survivors of sexual assault.

The Walla Walla District held a walk last April to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. District employees walked around the district headquarters building to show their support for survivors of sexual assault. WHAT: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District will be hosting an employee awareness walk in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month (SAAPM). The walk around the Walla Walla District Headquarters building will demonstrate commitment and deference to the U.S. Army’s Sexual Harassment and Prevention (SHARP) program and SAAPM.

WHO: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District employees, including LTC ShaiLin KingSlack, Walla Walla District Commander.

WHEN: Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 12:00 PM

WHERE: Walla Walla District Headquarters, 201 N 3rd Ave, Walla Walla, WA.

WHY: SAAM focuses on making connections in every sense of the word; making connections with our community, with ourselves and being advocates for the prevention of sexual assault and harassment. This walk calls attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts every person in the community and aims to raise public awareness about this issue and educate people on how to prevent it. It is also a chance to show our support for the survivors of sexual assault.
