WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Roads at Dent Acres Campground and segments of the Lewiston Levee Trail will undergo surface rehabilitation this fall and will require temporary closures through October 30.
Dent Campground has been closed since August 1, while sectional closures of the Lewiston Levee Trail will begin September 1 in preparation for this project. Work at both sites will consist of fixing unsafe sections of road and trail by repaving, patching, filling and sealing cracked, damaged and worn sections of asphalt. The closure dates will allow for the projects to be completed while the weather is dry and warm, a requirement for this type of work.
The project’s $975,000 contract has been awarded to Verdis, a full-service civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning and construction firm based in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. The work at Dent Acres is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, while the Lewiston Levee Trail work is funded by the Federal Lands Transportation Program.
Dent Acres Campground, located near Orofino, Idaho, is managed as part of the Dworshak Dam and Reservoir project.
