KAHLOTUS, Wash. -- Officials at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam have extended the previously announced public crossing closure through November 14. The closure is still set to begin on October 28.
The extension will provide additional time for work crews to complete crane removal operations and perform maintenance on the dam.
During this period, all vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam will be suspended to ensure public safety. USACE encourages travelers to plan alternative routes during the closure.
Normal crossing hours are once per hour, on the half-hour, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Public crossings are also available at Lower Granite Lock and Dam and Little Goose Lock and Dam.
