Boise River and Lucky Peak Lake levels may go up or down during coming week

Published June 3, 2011

BOISE, Idaho – Boise River and Lucky Peak lake levels may increase or decrease during the next week or later as reservoir operators manage for a balance between refill operations and flood risk management. Lucky Peak Dam and Lake has sufficient capacity for anticipated inflows at this time.

Boise area residents may see Boise River Greenbelt pathways temporarily reappear as river levels and flows vary up or down. Lucky Peak lake users may see the lake level vary up or down.

Those using river or lake recreation facilities are cautioned to remain aware of possible high water, unsafe saturated riverbanks, unstable walking or biking surfaces, cold water temperatures, higher flow velocities, floating debris and brush along the river banks. It’s important to remember seasonal water flows are the result melting snow during this record weather year.
