13-019 Corps temporarily closes Hood Park day use area due to gas leak

Published March 20, 2013

BURBANK, Wash. – As a precaution, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed Hood Park near Burbank, Wash., on Tuesday due to a gas leak in the day use area on the east side of the Park in the ponds area. The boat ramp area remains open 24 hours a day.

The temporary closure is due to a Cascade Natural Gas pipeline gas leak. The Corps asks everyone to stay away from the east side of the park. The gate to that area is closed, and the affected area is posted with signs and barriers indicating what to avoid. The day use area will re-open when it is safe to do so.

The gas company is responsible for repairs to their gas line.
