BOISE, Idaho – A community-sponsored triathlon athletic event will be held at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Lucky Peak Dam and Lake June 10 through June 13, affecting visitor access to some recreation areas during those days.

Various closures are planned as follows: At 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, Barclay Bay will be closed until approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. At 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, all public-vehicle access across the dam to day-use and boat launch areas will be closed until immediately following the Ironman Boise event on Saturday, June 13. Viewpoint will be closed Saturday morning until after the event. The closures were coordinated via a Corps’ special-use permit to ensure public and event-participant safety.

Boat launching and day-use activities will remain available at all other Lucky Peak Dam and Lake recreation areas, including Spring Shores Marina, Macks Creek Park and launch ramp, Mores Creek Park, and Robie Creek Park and launch ramp.
