  • USACE updates Safe Lockage Policy for recreational vessels on Columbia, Snake rivers

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has put the following guidelines in place for the continued safe passage of recreational craft through the navigation locks at McNary, John Day, The Dalles, and Bonneville dams on the Columbia River, and Ice Harbor, Lower Monumental, Little Goose and Lower Granite dams on the Snake River:

  • 20-029 Summer recreational vessel lockage schedule has begun

    COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – For the Walla Walla District, Corps of Engineers, May 15 marked the start of the summer schedule for recreational boaters using navigation locks to travel past U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers, according to Corps navigation planners.
  • 18-004 Work around Little Goose’s navigation lock to temporarily increase lockage times

    Starbuck, Wash. – Locking a vessel past Little Goose Lock and Dam may take a bit longer than usual from Jan. 29, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2018. According to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the dam, ongoing work is being performed in the vicinity of the lock approach when approaching the upstream side of the lock.

    LOWER SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – If your upcoming holiday plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the river in Washington will be closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on the Christmas and New Year’s Day federally recognized holidays.
