  • 20-027 Goats coming to graze at Mill Creek

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- A herd of goats will be used to remove weeds and other vegetation growing on levees that border the creek shoreline extending from the Mill Creek diversion dam downstream to the metal division works foot bridge near the Mill Creek Office. They will be arriving this weekend after they complete their work at Lower Monumental Dam.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A public meeting for the Mill Creek Flood Risk Management General Investigation Study, Walla Walla, Washington, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 550 West Rose Street in Walla Walla, Washington. At this meeting, the Corps will give a presentation, conduct a question and answer session, and accept written comments from interested parties.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, invites public comments on the draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Assessment Report (FR/EA) for the Mill Creek Flood Risk Management General Investigation Study, Walla Walla, Washington.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to repair the bridges in the area around the Mill Creek dam project will require intermittent bridge closures Dec. 18 through the beginning of January, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operations officials.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Continuing work to replace the needle gate at the headworks of Yellowhawk Creek at the Division Works Dam will require temporary closure of the road access during business hours from Sept. 25 to 28 according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operations officials.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District (Corps), and Walla Walla County (county) invite the public to attend a progress-update presentation about the Mill Creek General Investigation Feasibility Study (study) on Thursday, May 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 550 West Rose Street in Walla Walla, Washington. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., with time afterward for questions.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff opened Rooks Park’s gates to vehicle traffic today, April 1, according to Walla Walla District operations officials at the Mill Creek Project. Rooks Park is located on Mill Creek Road about 1 mile east of Walla Walla, Washington.
