Walla Walla, WA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District (Corps) will be paving the parking lot adjacent to the Mill Creek Office building on April 6. This work will result in the closure of the parking lot and road to the Mill Creek Office for that day.
The paving is being done to patch the asphalt that was excavated to install a septic line for the new maintenance building near the Mill Creek Office. The contract was awarded to Verdis, a full-service civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning and construction firm based in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
“this is one of the final steps in getting the maintenance building completed so the crew is looking forward to moving into the updated shop and having more room to work on projects and keep improving Mill Creek Dam and Bennington Lake. The old workshop was built in the 1940s and is a much smaller workspace compared to the upgraded shop.,” Tana Wilson, Park Ranger at Mill Creek, said.
The parking lot and road to the Mill Creek Office will be closed to maintain the safety of both visitors and the work crew.
