WALLA WALLA DISTRICT CORPS OF ENGINEERS
Published July 9, 2021

Ahsahka, Idaho – Officials at Dworshak Dam, in coordination with local wildfire authorities, have enacted an immediate ban of all fires on Corps of Engineers property at Dworshak.

This fire ban includes Dent Acres, Canyon Creek, Grandad campgrounds, all shoreline campsites, Freeman Creek and Three Meadows campgrounds managed by the State of Idaho. This action is in advance of an anticipated State of Idaho stage II fire restriction for the area.

More information regarding allowable cooking devices, (gas or other fuels) will be available when the State restrictions are released. Effective immediately, no fires of any kind are allowed on Corps of Engineers property at Dworshak Reservoir. Park Rangers and deputies will be patrolling the lake and campgrounds.

Boaters, look up and stay out of the center of the reservoir. Water tanker bombers are refilling on Dworshak Reservoir. The current “landing strip” is between Big Eddy Marina and Canyon Creek, but is subject to change locations as weather and fire needs change.
