AHSAHKA, Idaho – Due to an intensifying regional heatwave, Dworshak Dam will be further increasing their releases to support flow augmentation intended to keep the tailwater of Lower Granite at or below 68° F.

21-033 Dworshak Dam to increase releases for flow augmentation
AHSAHKA, Idaho – Dworshak Dam releases will increase from 1,500 cubic feet per second (cfs) on Tuesday to the maximum powerhouse capacity of 9,400 cfs by Thursday night. The river will rise approximately 0.5 feet during the flow changes Tuesday night. The river level is then expected to remain in the same range through the end of the week. This increase in releases is being made to support flow augmentation intended to keep the tailwater of Lower Granite at or below 68° F.

Clarkston, Wash. – The park hours at Swallows Park, Chestnut Beach and all restrooms along the Greenbelt Trail are switching to updated winter hours, effective immediately.

Clarkston, Wash. – Lower Granite Lock and Dam, near Pomeroy, Wash., has come to the end of its summer hours. Beginning Monday, Sept. 7, the dam returned to the regular 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday through Saturday schedule.

Clarkston, Wash. – Officials at Lower Granite Lock and Dam are closing dam crossings to the public for two weeks, starting today, due to COVID-19 health concerns. Dam officials will provide an update status on crossings in about 14 days.

20-029 Summer recreational vessel lockage schedule has begun
COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – For the Walla Walla District, Corps of Engineers, May 15 marked the start of the summer schedule for recreational boaters using navigation locks to travel past U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers, according to Corps navigation planners.
