  • Corps announces holiday dam-crossing schedule

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – If your upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holiday plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that most U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams are closed to public traffic on federal holidays.
  • Corps invites public comments on draft Programmatic Sediment Management Plan Environmental Impact Statement

    CLARKSTON, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District is inviting public comments on a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Lower Snake River Programmatic Sediment Management Plan (PSMP). Comments on the draft EIS will begin to be accepted on Friday, Dec. 21, when an official notice is expected to be published in the Federal Register, and are due to the Corps no later than Feb. 8, 2013.
  • Mill Creek Office parking lot temporary closures to occur Dec. 11-12

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Vehicle and pedestrian access to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mill Creek Office parking area will be closed intermittently on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and Wednesday, Dec. 12, to allow contractors to place asphalt in areas associated with the new public restroom installed there last week.
  • Dworshak announces December showings of nature-themed movies

    Visitors are invited to attend free nature-themed movie presentations at the Dworshak Dam Visitor Center theater during December, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the dam announced today.
  • Mill Creek Office and Bennington Lake to get new restrooms; parking lot closures to occur on Dec. 5

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Vehicle and pedestrian access to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mill Creek Office parking area and portions of the Bennington Lake parking area will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 5 to allow contractors to install new public restrooms.
  • Dworshak staff announces seasonal facilities closures

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Dworshak Dam and Reservoir staff announces that Dam View, Grandad and Canyon Creek campgrounds, and Merrys Bay day-use area are closed for the winter season and will reopen in the spring 2013 as weather conditions allow. Dent Acres campground will remain open until Dec. 15, weather permitting, to accommodate late-season hunters.
