19-017 Navigation locks on Columbia, Snake rivers to close March 2 for annual maintenance; Ice Harbor lock currently remains temporarily out of service for urgent machinery repairs
COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct routine annual inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs at all navigation locks on the Columbia and Snake rivers during March.

BURBANK, Wash. – Ice Harbor Dam’s navigation lock, located at Snake River Mile 9.7 near Burbank, Wash., closed to all river traffic on Saturday, Feb. 23, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.

LOWER SNAKE RIVER -- If your upcoming Washington’s Birthday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the river in Washington are closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federally recognized holidays, unless otherwise announced.
