22-007 Dworshak Dam releases to fluctuate between 6,100 and 8,500 cfs in first week of February
AHSAHKA, Idaho –Dworshak Dam will continue drafting to meet flood control targets through the end of January. Releases are expected to remain between 6,100 and 7,700 cubic feet per second (cfs) through the end of the month.

22-006 Walla Walla District announces work plans for infrastructure funding
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District has released their work plan for the funding appropriated by the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act (IIJA). The IIJA has allocated approximately $55 million directly to the Walla Walla District for the following projects in fiscal year (FY) 2022

22-005 Columbia and Snake river navigation locks will close in February for annual maintenance
COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District will close the District’s navigation locks on the Columbia and Snake rivers in February for regularly-scheduled annual inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs.

22-004 Corps investigates steelhead mortalities at Dworshak Dam
OROFINO, Idaho – In late December 2021, Idaho Department of Fish and Game notified U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District officials of reports of numerous dead steelhead downstream of Dworshak Dam. Upon their investigation it was confirmed that approximately 30 deceased adult steelhead trout were visible in Dworkshak’s downstream channel.

22-003 Dworshak Dam discharges to increase to draft reservoir to meet flood risk management targets
AHSAHKA, Idaho – In order to meet flood control targets for January, reservoir managers will increase releases Monday evening, January 10, from 1,700 cubic feet per second (cfs) to approximately 2,400 cfs.
