    19-010 Corps to celebrate E-Week with 'Generating Power for the Future' contests in local Walla Walla, College Place and Pendleton area school

    WALLA WALLA, Washington – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (Corps) Walla Walla District will sponsor the 'Generating Power for the Future' engineering competitions at Walla Walla High School, DeSales High School, College Place High School, and Pendleton High School to celebrate National Engineers Week (EWeek) February 19-27.

    19-009 Lower Granite open for vehicle crossings on Monday holiday; Travelers should plan alternate routes across river at ‘LoMo’ and Little Goose dams

    LOWER SNAKE RIVER -- If your upcoming Washington’s Birthday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the river in Washington are closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federally recognized holidays, unless otherwise announced.

    19-008 Corps announces temporary road and recreation site closures near Ashaka ID due to looming Dworshak Timber sales beginning as early as Feb. 18th

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – As the Corps of Engineers Ahsahka Timber Sale progresses west toward the town of Ahsahka, Idaho, several recreation areas and roads will need to be temporarily closed to facilitate the harvest.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is announcing the closure of road traffic crossing Bennington Lake at the Mill Creek Project starting Friday, Feb. 8 and will reopen on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Conduct Stakeholder Session on WRDA 2018 Implementation Guidance

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct a Stakeholder Session, Monday, Feb. 11, to get public input on USACE development of implementation guidance for various provisions contained in the Water Resources Development Act of 2018 (WRDA 2018). WRDA 2018 was signed into law Oct. 23, 2018, as Title I of the America's Water Infrastructure Act of 2018.

    19-006 Lower Monumental Dam maintenance work will require temporary dam-crossing closure Feb. 4-10

    KAHLOTUS, Wash. – Vehicle crossings at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam, located at Snake River Mile 41.6 near Kahlotus, Washington, will be closed Feb. 4-10, 2019, to accommodate operations and maintenance activities using the top of the dam, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.

    19-002 Bennington Lake visitors impacted by water system upgrade

    WALLA WALLA, Wash.– The water system upgrade for the restroom at Bennington Lake, located off Reservoir road, next to the boat ramp in the Mill Creek Project, will require the drinking fountain and sink to be unavailable until further notice, according to officials with the Walla Walla District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
