Pipeline installation work to temporarily close portions of Greenbelt Trail

CLARKSTON, Wash. – Visitors using the Greenbelt Trail along the Snake River in Clarkston, Wash., may find portions of the trail temporarily blocked off to accommodate construction activities as Avista Utilities installs a new natural gas pipeline on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-managed land between the south end of Chestnut Beach and the north end of Swallows Park, according to Corps officials. Corps program may provide rehabilitation assistance to damaged flood-management facilities

Lower Monumental navigation lock reopens to recreational vessels

POMEROY, Wash. – Lower Monumental Lock and Dam’s navigation lock service reopened to recreational vessels at 8 a.m. Friday, July 1. The navigation lock had been closed since June 22 to recreational vessels after loose concrete was discovered on the wall at an existing repair site inside the lock.
