  • 16-014 Dworshak increases flow discharge in anticipation of additional inflows

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Discharge flows from Dworshak Dam and Reservoir are being increased today, March 31, 2016, from approximately 2,200 c.f.s. (cubic feet per second) to about 14,000 c.f.s. to make room for anticipated inflows resulting from additional rainfall and snowmelt in the Clearwater sub-basin, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-management officials.

    Dworshak Visitor Center schedule to temporarily change AHSAHKA, Idaho –Dworshak Dam’s Visitor Center will be temporarily closed to accommodate staff-training requirements March 28-April 1 and April 4-5.
  • 16-010 Lower Granite Dam vehicle crossings to be delayed March 21-24

    POMEROY, Wash. – Public vehicle access across Lower Granite Lock and Dam will be delayed repeatedly for up to two hours from Monday, March 21, through Thursday, March 24. The Corps is working on both seasonal fish screen maintenance and additional efforts related to construction of the Juvenile Fish Facility bypass upgrade.
  • 16-009 Dworshak gears up for warm-weather recreation

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Enjoy springtime in picturesque north Idaho at outdoor recreation facilities operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Dworshak Dam and Reservoir. Dent Acres Boat Ramp will open on March 14, and the restroom near the ramp will be open. Merrys Bay day-use, Dam View, and Canyon Creek campgrounds open April 1.
  • 16-008 Corps volunteers kick off E-Week with DeSales High School students

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. –Volunteers with the Walla Walla District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, partnered with DeSales Catholic High School, to hold a competition on Feb. 23, 2016 in celebration of National Engineers week (Feb.22-26). Students had 20 minutes to construct a paper tower, as part of their curriculum, as well as encouraging an interest in engineering. Teams received points based on the height of their tower and the amount of weight it could hold without collapsing.
