18-44 District employees deploy to support FEMA missions in Puerto Rico, California

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Three U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District employees deployed during the past week to support ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster-response missions in Puerto Rico and California, according to District emergency management officials.

18-043 Lower Granite Dam offers ‘behind-the-scenes’ guided tours

POMEROY, Wash. – Visitors at Lower Granite Lock and Dam can get behind-the-scenes tours of the powerhouse, navigation lock and fish passage facilities – areas ordinarily off-limits to public access, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today. Tours are offered Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through Oct. 31.

18-042 Granite Point closed until further notice due to visitors’ trash, vandalism

PULLMAN, Wash. – Granite Point day-use area is closed until further notice due to health and safety concerns after recent heavy visitation, trash accumulation and vandalism, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

18-041 Dworshak decreases outflows; more boat ramps available as reservoir fills

AHSAHKA, Idaho – Discharge flows from Dworshak Dam and Reservoir were decreased just after midnight today, May 1, 2018, from approximately 7,000 c.f.s. (cubic feet per second) to about 4,700 c.f.s., according to reservoir managers at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Walla Walla District. The drop in outflows will allow the reservoir to gradually refill with snowmelt runoff, and make more boat ramps accessible as the water rises.
