    13-055 Drivers may experience crossing delays Aug. 12-16 at Lower Granite Dam

    POMEROY, Wash. – Vehicles crossing the Snake River at Lower Granite Lock and Dam may encounter delays of up to 2 hours Aug. 12-16 to accommodate maintenance activities on top of the dam, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.

    13-054 Mill Creek’s north-shore trail to temporarily close for riprap placement

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Parts of the paved trail on the north side of the Mill Creek channel will be temporarily closed to all visitors on Monday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 8, while channel maintenance activities occur in the creek, just below the dam.

    13-053 Corps reminds summer visitors about possible wildlife encounters in nature areas

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds visitors to Corps-managed natural areas to exercise caution if wild animals are encountered. The potential for conflict between humans and threatening wildlife exists since the District hosts 8 million visitors annually at its eight water resource projects in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in the Snake-Columbia rivers basin.

    BOISE – Water levels at Lucky Peak Dam and Lake will begin to drop about a month earlier than usual as water operations managers for the Boise River reservoir system begin releasing water from the lake on Monday, July 22, to meet irrigation commitments.
