    14-017 Dworshak to increase discharge on Sunday in anticipation of additional inflows

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Discharge flows from Dworshak Dam will be increased on Sunday from approximately 14,100 c.f.s. (cubic feet per second) to about 17,100 c.f.s. to make room for anticipated inflows resulting from spring rainfall and snowmelt, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-management officials.

    14-016 Idaho ‘Silver Jackets’ celebrates 5 years of flood risk reduction teamwork

    BOISE, Idaho – National Flood Safety Awareness Week, March 17-21, is an annual campaign promoted by the National Weather Service and other agencies to highlight some of the many ways floods can occur, the hazards associated with floods and what people can do to save lives and property. Appropriately, the Idaho Silver Jackets, an interagency flood risk management team, is recognizing five years of working with the State of Idaho and other stakeholders in developing and implementing solutions to flood hazards.

    14-015 Vegetation maintenance to require temporary trail closures

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The paved trail on the north side of Mill Creek -- from Rooks Park to the metal bridge at the office parking lot -- will be temporarily closed to all visitors Monday through Wednesday, March 17-20, from 7 a.m.to 4 p.m., to accommodate the pruning and\or removal of selected hazardous trees along the trail, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the Mill Creek Office announced today.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – If your upcoming Washington’s Birthday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that most U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams are closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federal holidays, unless otherwise announced.
