    Corps begins repairs on flood-damaged JY Ranch Levee, completes work on Taylor #2 Levee

    JACKSON, Wyo. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, personnel began emergency repairs on another levee section within the Jackson Hole Levee Project, a system of many levee sections that provides flood-risk management benefits to communities along the upper Snake River near Jackson, Wyo.

    Corps repairs flood-damaged areas in Jefferson county

    MENAN, Idaho – Flood-fight experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, and Jefferson County officials have finished construction on a levee embankment located on the Snake River near the Scotts Slough in Jefferson County.

    Corps extends McNary Shoreline Plan public comment period by 60 days

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is extending the public comment period for the McNary Shoreline Management Plan by an additional 60 days, or to Aug. 27, 2011. The original comment period began May 25 and was scheduled to end June 27. Comments may be submitted about the proposed plan and an associated revised Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

    Debris cleanup to temporarily close access upstream of Mill Creek Dam

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to clear debris from the forebay of the Mill Creek Dam will begin early next week, requiring temporary access closures to land areas surrounding the work zone, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold an open house and information meeting about an updated McNary Shoreline Management Plan on Thursday evening, June 9, at the Pasco Red Lion hotel. The open house begins at 6 p.m., and the public meeting is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the hotel at 2525 North 20th Avenue in Pasco, Wash.

    Corps repairs flood-damaged areas in Bingham County; NWS issues flood warning as spring temps melt snow

    BLACKFOOT, Idaho – Recent rainy weather and warming spring temperatures melting a record-level snowpack in upper Snake River Basin have caused unusually high flows in the river. Those flows have caused damage to several flood-protection structures that were built to help protect the City of Blackfoot from seasonal flooding.
