    Pipeline installation work to temporarily close portions of Greenbelt Trail

    CLARKSTON, Wash. – Visitors using the Greenbelt Trail along the Snake River in Clarkston, Wash., may find portions of the trail temporarily blocked off to accommodate construction activities as Avista Utilities installs a new natural gas pipeline on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-managed land between the south end of Chestnut Beach and the north end of Swallows Park, according to Corps officials.

    Corps program may provide rehabilitation assistance to damaged flood-management facilities

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Sponsors of flood-management facilities within the Walla Walla District which were damaged by spring flooding events that occurred April 1 through July 18 could find some help repairing their levees and related structures from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers if they submit their request for assistance by Sept. 1, according to Corps emergency management officials.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Work to clear debris from the forebay of the Mill Creek Dam will begin early next week, requiring temporary access closures to land areas surrounding the work zone, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

    Corps invites public to learn about Boise River at Eagle Island Ecosystem Restoration Project at July 20 meeting

    BOISE, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) will host a public information meeting in Eagle on Wednesday, July 20 to discuss the Boise River at Eagle Island Ecosystem Restoration Project and present preliminary information developed during the study. The Boise River Flood Control District #10 is the non-federal project sponsor working with the Corps to complete this project.

    Corps removes possible E. coli contamination advisory at Bennington Lake

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is removing the advisory given to the public late last week advising the public not to swim in Bennington Lake. After further testing, the Corps has found no further indication of high E. coli levels.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers advises the public to not swim in nor drink water from Bennington Lake because of an initial indication of E. coli bacteria presence during a routine monthly water test by the Corps.

    Lower Monumental navigation lock reopens to recreational vessels

    POMEROY, Wash. – Lower Monumental Lock and Dam’s navigation lock service reopened to recreational vessels at 8 a.m. Friday, July 1. The navigation lock had been closed since June 22 to recreational vessels after loose concrete was discovered on the wall at an existing repair site inside the lock. Loose concrete has been removed and a debris shield put in place.
