    Corps seeks public input on draft EA, FONSI for new Mill Creek office, maintenance buildings

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District (Corps), invites the public to comment on its draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Mill Creek Flood Control Project New Office and Maintenance Buildings construction project.

    McNary Dam park rangers offer north shore fish-viewing, NavLock tours

    UMATILLA, Ore. – The Natural Resources Management staff at McNary Lock and Dam will offer tours of the Washington Fish View Room and the navigation lock on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning Saturday, Aug. 27, through Saturday, Oct. 29, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the dam.

The meeting will be held be held at the Bennington Lake boat ramp parking lot beginning at 9:30 a.m.

    Pipeline installation work to temporarily close portions of Greenbelt Trail

    CLARKSTON, Wash. – Visitors using the Greenbelt Trail along the Snake River in Clarkston, Wash., may find portions of the trail temporarily blocked off to accommodate construction activities as Avista Utilities installs a new natural gas pipeline on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-managed land between the south end of Chestnut Beach and the north end of Swallows Park, according to Corps officials.

    Corps program may provide rehabilitation assistance to damaged flood-management facilities

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Sponsors of flood-management facilities within the Walla Walla District which were damaged by spring flooding events that occurred April 1 through July 18 could find some help repairing their levees and related structures from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers if they submit their request for assistance by Sept. 1, according to Corps emergency management officials.
