  • Media invited to learn more about revised McNary Shoreline Management Plan

    PASCO, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites members of the news media to meet with Corps officials Thursday, Oct. 27, to learn more about a recently revised McNary Shoreline Management Plan plus an associated Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The media opportunity with Corps officials is at 5 p.m. on Oct. 27 in Room 3 at the TRAC Center at 6600 Burden Blvd. in Pasco. A public meeting is planned for the evening of Nov. 8 in Richland.

  • Lower Granite navigation lock schedules five-hour closure to access electrical equipment

    POMEROY, Wash. – Lower Granite Dam’s navigation lock will close to all river traffic for five hours on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from noon to 5 p.m., according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District.

  • Construction work to temporarily close McNary Dam’s Spillway Park Nov. 1, 2011 – April 1, 2012

    UMATILLA, Ore. – Public access to Spillway Park, located about one-half mile downstream of McNary Lock and Dam on the Oregon shoreline, will be closed to accommodate construction activities Nov. 1, 2011, through April 1, 2012, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the dam.

  • Transmission line work to affect access to west side of McNary Wildlife Area Oct. 27- Nov. 25

    UMATILLA, Ore. – Brownell Road access to the Columbia River and ponds on the west side of the McNary Wildlife Nature Area will temporarily close to the public Oct. 27 through Nov. 25, operations officials at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ McNary Lock and Dam announced today.

  • Construction work to temporarily close Lucky Peak Dam road starting Oct. 19

    BOISE, Idaho – The road across Lucky Peak Dam will close on Wednesday, Oct. 19, for several weeks due to dam safety equipment installation and construction, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials. Vehicle access to day use areas or boat ramps at Barclay Bay, Turner Gulch, and Foote Park/Lydle Gulch will be blocked by construction equipment until further notice. Idaho Parks and Recreation’s Spring Shores Marina and boat ramps will remain open.

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Pedestrian access across the south end of the diversion\intake canal, part of the Meadowlark Loop trail which circles Bennington Lake on Mill Creek Project lands, will be closed to accommodate construction activities Oct. 13 through Oct. 27, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at the Mill Creek Project office.
