    Corps sends hydraulic engineer to Jackson Hole Levee Project; starts repairs on flood-damaged Morgan Levee

    JACKSON, Wyo. – Another U.S. Army Corps of Engineers emergency management flood-fight specialist from the Walla Walla District arrived in Jackson today to join the Corps team already at work supporting local flood-response operations in Teton County.

    Corps invites public to McNary Shoreline Management Plan; Open house and information meeting June 9

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold an open house and information meeting about an updated McNary Shoreline Management Plan on Thursday evening, June 9, at the Pasco Red Lion hotel. The open house begins at 6 p.m., and the public meeting is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the hotel at 2525 North 20th Avenue in Pasco, Wash.

    Corps repairs flood-damaged areas in Bingham County; NWS issues flood warning as spring temps melt snow

    BLACKFOOT, Idaho – Recent rainy weather and warming spring temperatures melting a record-level snowpack in upper Snake River Basin have caused unusually high flows in the river. Those flows have caused damage to several flood-protection structures that were built to help protect the City of Blackfoot from seasonal flooding.

    RIRIE, Idaho – Flood-fight experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, and Jefferson County officials are constructing a temporary levee embankment and reinforcing a connecting section of existing levee located on the Snake River near the Roberts Highway Bridge in Jefferson County.

The American Hiking Society's National Trails Day® is held the first Saturday of every June.
