22-039 Boise River flows increase June 9 to support salmon migration and with late snow, Lucky Peak will now fill in time for Father’s Day Weekend

BOISE, Idaho – Cool conditions, a slow melt of remaining snowpack, and several precipitation events have added significant water to the Boise River basin allowing Lucky Peak to begin filling to normal full pool (3,055 feet above mean sea level) and the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin increasing flows downstream of Lucky Peak Dam to provide additional water for salmon migration in the lower Snake and Columbia rivers.

22-038 Corps updates Safe Lockage Policy for recreational vessels on Columbia, Snake rivers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has put the following guidelines in place for the continued safe passage of recreational craft through the navigation locks at McNary, John Day, The Dalles, and Bonneville dams on the Columbia River, and Ice Harbor, Lower Monumental, Little Goose and Lower Granite dams on the Snake River:

22-037 Lucky Peak announces Barclay Bay Boat Ramp will be closed for the summer

BOISE, Idaho – Barclay Bay Boat Ramp will be closed this summer due to low water levels, sedimentation on the ramp and lack of adequate docking space. Parking will still be available for vehicles and trailers. Turner Gulch and Spring Shores boat ramps will be available for launching.

Walla Walla, WA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District will implement an alcohol ban at the Granite Point recreation site on Lower Granite Lake on May 27. This change is designed to enhance public safety and increase the overall recreation quality of the site.

22-033 Dworshak Dam releases to increase to balance refill with remaining snowpack

AHSAHKA, Idaho – Dworshak Dam will be slowly increasing releases this week from 5,600 cubic feet per second (cfs) to the approximate range of 7,500 cfs. Operations at Dworshak will change the height of the Clearwater River downstream of the dam by less than a foot, gradually, across a one-day period.

22-030 Corps to begin construction this summer to connect McNary wastewater sewer system to the City of Umatilla sewer system

Umatilla, Oregon – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District will begin construction this summer to connect the McNary Dam wastewater sewer system to the City of Umatilla sewer system. During the construction effort there will be temporary closures and detours affecting 3rd Street, West Park, Spillway Park, and the Visitor Center/Juvenile Fish Facility.
