    22-069 Chestnut Park restrooms closed until further notice due to vandalism

    Clarkston, Wash. – The Lower Granite Natural Resource Management staff are closing the Chestnut Park restrooms located on the Snake River in Clarkston, Washington until further notice.

    22-068 Dworshak Dam releases to fluctuate between 1,600 and 3,000 cfs on Oct. 26 & 27 for turbine maintenance testing

    AHSAHKA, Idaho –Dworshak Dam releases will remain at 1,600 cubic feet per second (cfs) through the end of October as the reservoir begins fall operations. The current reservoir elevation is approximately 1,516 feet.

    Geoff Van Epps promoted to brigadier general

    Geoff Van Epps was promoted to the rank of brigadier general today in a traditional military ceremony at the historic Gen. George C. Marshall House at the former Vancouver Barracks in Vancouver, Washington. Major General Richard Heitkamp, deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, hosted a long-standing traditional ceremony which is a public indication of the increased responsibility that the service member is about to assume. Photos from the ceremony will be released later today.

    22-065 Dworshak Dam releases to fluctuate between 3,600 and 6,000 cfs on Oct. 5 & 6 for testing

    AHSAHKA, Idaho –Dworshak Dam releases will remain at 1,600 cubic feet per second (cfs) through Monday, Oct. 3 as the reservoir begins fall operations. The current reservoir elevation is approximately 1,519 feet and the maximum allowable elevation by the end of December is approximately 1,559 feet.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will waive day use fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on Saturday, Sept. 24.
