    16-092 Dam crossings closed on Christmas, New Year’s federal holidays

    LOWER SNAKE RIVER, Wash. – If your upcoming holiday plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the river in Washington will be closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on the Christmas and New Year’s Day federally recognized holidays.

    16-091 Dworshak announces Visitor Center holiday schedule

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – The Dworshak Dam Visitor Center will be closed Monday, December 26, 2016,and Monday, January 2, 2017. At all other times, the Visitor Center is scheduled to be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    WALLA WALLA, Washington – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a draft Integrated Letter Report and Programmatic Environmental Assessment (EA) for Federal Participation in Watercraft Inspection Stations in the Columbia River Basin. Public comments are invited beginning Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, through Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017.

    16-088 Extended navigation lock outage starts Monday; Recreational boaters can access 50+ shoreline launches

    COLUMBIA\SNAKE RIVERS, Oregon\Washington – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials from Walla Walla and Portland districts want to remind boaters that all navigation locks on the lower Columbia and Snake rivers will be placed out of service on Monday, Dec. 12, to conduct a 14-week-long maintenance outage.

    KAHLOTUS, Wash. – Public vehicle traffic across Lower Monumental Lock and Dam will be temporarily suspended Dec. 1, 2016, through Jan. 7, 2017, while maintenance crews clean river debris from the turbine intake trash racks, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, operations officials at the dam.
