14-011 Prototype passage structure eases lampreys’ upstream journey
UMATILLA, Ore. -- Pacific lampreys migrating up the Columbia River will find their route past McNary Lock and Dam a bit easier to travel, thanks to a prototype lamprey-passage structure installed in the downstream end of the Oregon shore fish ladder, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

14-008 Lower Granite open for vehicle crossings on Monday holiday; Travelers should plan alternate routes across river at ‘LoMo’ and Little Goose dams
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – If your upcoming Washington’s Birthday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that most U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams are closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federal holidays, unless otherwise announced.

14-007 Navigation locks on Columbia, Snake rivers to close for annual maintenance
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close navigation locks at dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers in March to conduct routine annual inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs to major lock systems like gates, valves, pumps and electrical gear.

14-006 Bennington Lake road access temporarily closed for safety
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Icy conditions on Reservoir Road leading to Bennington Lake have prompted U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park rangers to temporarily close access to the lake parking area, operations officials at Mill Creek Dam and Bennington Lake announced, today.

14-005 Corps completes environmental compliance for Inland Avian Predation Management Plan
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for the Inland Avian Predation Management Plan (IAPMP). District leadership signed a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) on Jan. 23. This completes the Corps’ environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

14-004 Dworshak discharge flows to change tomorrow
AHSAHKA, Idaho – Water discharge from Dworshak Dam near Orofino, Idaho, will temporarily increase starting Wednesday, Feb. 5, between 4 and 5 a.m., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operations officials announced today.
